TEMPS ZERO
2022

From extracts of clouds that the artist collects in high mountains, the work Temps Zero is a dialogue between the sky, rock, and machines. These three sculptures serve as small conservatories for clouds and asbestiform rocks, meaning they are composed of asbestos and were collected with the help of a crystallographer.

In these quartz tubes, the clouds appear and disappear, swirling from dawn to an artificial twilight, according to an evolution and temporality controlled and dictated by machines. The work presents an unprecedented encounter between clouds and asbestos stones scattered with semi-precious stones, highlighting their possible and uncontrollable chemical interactions, between danger and the sublime.
