NEPHOSCOPE
2014
Nephoscope is a mobile sculpture composed of a fixed and a mobile part. It is composed of a horizontal disc of 18 cm contained between two layers of glass. At the ends of the disc, a topographic representation in cast bronze looks at the center of a circle, where clouds emerge.
The result is an inverted representation: the map of an imaginary world, in which the atmosphere is at the center. A dominant current drives the clouds in a clockwise direction. But, the viewer can change the direction of the movement by pressing a button creating dynamical chaos within the clouds.
