La Fabrique du Vaporeux N°1 (The Factory of the Vaporous N°1) is the first cloud-capturing machine made by the artist.
Made from recycled materials from an old alcohol distillery, La Fabrique du Vaporeux N°1 oscillates between an industrial production and an utopian dream. It is a mobile system, a portable laboratory that allows the artist to capture samples from the surrounding environment.
During her travels, Marie-Luce Nadal captures cloud particles and electrical storm residues, which she then reduces to extracts in order to redeploy them at will.
La Fabrique du Vaporeux N°1 is composed of a system for extracting air and water from the environment, a set of instruments used to separate air and water from chemical and inorganic components, as well as a series of tools for dosing, distributing, and mixing these components to produce pure synthetic cloud and storm essence.
